The Shenanicon Cosplay Showcase is an on-stage show where costumed entries perform in front of an audience. Entries take the form of walk-ons or rehearsed skits which may include, but are not limited to: musical numbers, choreographed dances, comedy sketches, instrumental acts, parodies, drama, cosplay runways, and derpyness.

Taking place on the Courtyard Stage in the atrium, the Cosplay Showcase will feature various performances and a cosplay fashion show.

As one of the featured events at Shenanicon, this is one event you will not want to miss. One of the highlights of the con, the Shenanicon  Cosplay Showcase is an exciting presentation of talent, craftsmanship, and so much more.

Cosplay Showcase applications are now closed for Shenanicon 2024.

Prior to applying, please make sure to read the following policies:

• Shenanicon Cosplay Showcase applications will be accepted through Monday, June 17th at 11:59:59pm ET.

• To enter the Shenanicon Cosplay Showcase, you must have a registered membership to Shenanicon 2024 and be of 21 years of age or older.

• • Check-in for the Shenanicon Cosplay Showcase will be held starting at 2:45pm at the Courtyard Stage. Failure to check-in will results in a disqualification of the entry and the slot being opened up to another waitlisted entry. The practice session and the Showcase are both schedule for Saturday early-afternoon.

• All skits must be PG-13 or lower. Please refrain from cursing and no nudity on stage – the hotel still is open to the public during the convention!

• There will be a maximum of five (5) participants on stage at any time in any Shenanicon Cosplay Showcase performance; this includes stage “ninjas”.

• Staged falls, as well as smoke, pyrotechnics, glitter, or other special effects that will leave a mess behind are prohibited. Nothing can be thrown into the audience and any item that comes on stage must be brought off the stage at the end of the skit.

• Participant’s costumes must allow freedom of movement. Shenanicon Cosplay Staff will be unable to assist entrants with their costumes. Entrants must be able to navigate and move around the stage unassisted.

• Any participant who does not follow the rules of the Shenanicon Cosplay Showcase, misses the line-up times, or does not follow the instructions of cosplay staff during the event, may be disallowed from participating at the discretion of the Head of Cosplay.

• Only Shenanicon Cosplay Showcase participants will be allowed in the Back Stage Area.

• Last Chance Sign-ups (at-con) will be during the rehearsal session and no later than twenty (20) minutes before the end of the time slot.

• Please note that the stage is approximately 10′ x 10′ area – please limit your performances to no more than that space.
• Participants will be allowed no more than 5 minutes for their performance; this time includes both set-up and break down.
• For audio: you must provide your own music/audio. You must upload your audio in the link provided in the application. Failure to upload your audio may result in your application being rejected. We recommend MP3, MP4, AIFF, or WAV format at 44.100 kHz Stereo, minimum 16-bit Integer.

Do note – this is not a first-come, first-accepted system. We will review all applications equally and fairly once applications and will select from the list of applications for the scheduled showcase time. We will do our best to accommodate everyone, but as time is limited, we may not be able to fit everyone.
